Seems to be a significantly reduction in the number of expats roles around the world. It’s going definitely hurt where I work; anyone else seeing this

EM management has made a decision to not staff overseas OBO projects and if possible, staff with BTC.
EM will just repeat the past Lesson Learned when billion$ were lost on poorly lead OBO projects.
BTC engineers are task oriented and mostly fail at that. BTC engineers rarely identify issues early and act creatively and proactively to resolve.
Hope Company Plan has been in reduced safety, reliability as well as reduced opex. It may not happen today, tomorrow or next year but it will come.

God forbid but I foresee a major accident coming with slashing of integrity related spend. Darren won’t be blamed as it will be poor refinery manager but this is down to Darren. We have the next Boeing coming our way
Offshoring and outsourcing are occurring like the plague in not just this industry but a multitude of industries. This is not acceptable and most be stopped! No matter what it takes! Step up and help stop it! Don't say there is nothing you can do. That is BS

Darren and the MC will never be impacted; by the time they hear the message it has been refined so many times to make sure it’s positive. They have layers of people to shield them. It’s us vs them now.

Having worked with BTC engineers this is a losing strategy as they don't have the mindset to make projects succeed
The corporate plan has baked in OPEX reductions from not only HC10, but reduction of expat roles. GBCs aren’t even safe as the commodity labor will be continually shifted to lower cost locations as their economy develops.
