Some of these employees had 20, 25, even 30 years of tenure. These are people who built the company. They were dumped via email. How awful.

I heard that they are out sourcing their work force to India. So much for US workers. Greed is what I see.

I think they just kicked themselves in the a-s. Some of the smartest assets were let go, you can’t get that knowledge back! I was told I can reapply for open position, after what they did? I think not. Perfect reviews, 20+ years with Kronos/UKG and this is the thanks. Aaron Ain must be in tears seeing his baby turn into a mess. Oh and by the way all unvested stock options are now terminated. Thank you! Shame on you UKG! To my clients I am sorry you have been left hanging

Whether Employees were with this company 20 weeks or 20+ years as some of us were the notification for the masses was sent out via an e-mail stating if you work onsite plan to leave the building within 2-3 hours. Severance packages paid out via the standard payroll structure and no lump sum option so they that Employees cannot collect unemployment benefits along with severance. Severance packages amounted to 1 weeks pay per year Employed by UKG. Kronos was a great company, but UKG is terrible. Good luck trying to get Product support now with a trimmed workforce. All those support cases opened by Customers that haven’t even been reviewed in 90 plus days will continue to be closed without being reviewed to trim the backlog. This move might make the company look attractive to stock holders, but the products being sold are not being supported. Workday is loving this news as their Market position is only getting stronger.

and just like that, people will forget about it in just a few weeks, not making UKG accountable for anything.

If you position was eliminated, they can not hire for your position for 1 year. Keep an eye out on UKG job board.

We all learned how it felt to work for a company that lived by a very simple concept... "Scratch my back, and I will scratch yours!". It's so basic and simple. It's a powerful vision.

For the employer, they will attract the best of the best quality employees, AND they will work their as--s off for them!

For the employees, they will receive benefits, especially the ones not listed in the benefit plan. Respect, pride, purpose, and security!

It's a delicate balance that works great when our goal and intent are the same. But, the wheels can quickly come flying off if the intention and goals change. AND they have changed.

This last round of layoffs had a much different intent. This wasn't a surgical or precise process! No, this was the meat on the bone. There was no intent other than to rid as quickly as possible cost. It didn't matter that key people were part of the massacre, and the way it was done certainly was never a concern. This was a hastened decision driven out of disappointment with the current financial figures. The books needed to quickly appear more attractive. This is Wall Street, and when you are selling something, you make it look pretty. This is the cost of going public and trying to maximize the IPO.

The name UKG sounds like the name of a place the Russians would have called the Western front in WWII. “Mom I’m being sent to the UKG” … “have hope my son”.

In 2024 there are so many options, why any company would purchase this is beyond me. Short minded people that call their HR department People comes to mind first,

Always read these stories and see 14% = 2,200 employees. How is there that many people working at this company to begin with? Honestly expected 2,200 total.

In his $5 million Massachusetts home, Chris Todd laid back and grinned, appreciating all the work he had done to appease stakeholders and earn his CEO package at a time when 14% of workers were laid off.

By Federal Law if more than 100 employees are terminated in a company. A company is force to give them 2 months of pay, and they should continue working, such if the company deem it necessary. Just so you don’t signed papers neglecting the right to legally complain or take actions against this company.

The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) requires employers with 100 or more full-time employees to provide at least 60 days' written notice of a mass layoff that affects 50 or more employees at a single site. The notice must be given before the closure of a facility or building, or before a mass layoff. The 60-day notice gives employees time to look for other jobs.

"news and speculation related to this action circulating internally" is corporate-speak for:

They tried to quietly lay off VPs on Monday while people were distracted by the holiday. They then tried to keep quiet until next week, when they planned to lay everyone else off.

People noticed that VPs were gone and then quite a number affected employees found out via Fedex delivery manager that they were being laid off because shipping labels back to UKG were created for their address. They acted in a disgusting and horrible untransparent manner, and I'm so shocked and disgusted by what has transpired today.

By the way, there were people who had been with the company for over 10 years that found out via Fedex label that they were laid off.
