Just a step closed to autonomous driving? Why would anyone drive our products?
Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2022-2023 Ford Mustang models over an issue with the steering wheel.
The defect: in affected vehicles, the secondary steering torque sensor may not be calibrated properly, which can cause the steering wheel to turn side to side against the driver’s intentions.
The hazards: a steering wheel that turns unintentionally can cause a loss of vehicle control and increase the risk of a crash.
Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.
Components: power steering control module (PSCM)
Affected vehicles: select 2022-2023 Ford Mustang models produced at the Flat Rock Assembly plant between September 15th, 2022 and April 5th, 2023.
Number of vehicles affected: 30,735
The fix: dealers will update the power steering control module software, free of charge.
