I heard from an internal source that they eventually plan to move all of IT and engineering to offshore.

Nothing wrong moving it offshore I suppose but you also get what you pay for which is nothing. There are over 2000 people in Noida and teams upon teams that look at different portions of the same application. I had an access issue and it took multiple teams and 3 days for them to figure out some id--t had copied a blank space when pasting my credentials from one place to another.
who is blaming India? nobody. when someone talks about the negative of offshoring to some cheaper geographic location, it's not that they are being negative about those people but in the action itself.
the act of doing this circumvents the checks and balances of capitalism. the product being produced's costs is no longer tethered to the population it's being sold to. the population producing the product is not connected to the profit acquired.
this benefits a very specific and tiny minority of people in the corporation at the detriment of the majority in the corporation.
the comments relating to quality of work is more of a choice and exploitation of the given locality. it's not indicative of the country but of the company choosing to pay bottom of the barrel. the barrel is bigger in India than the us, there's far more at the bottom they're looking to pay at to pick from. the quality indian developers are not the target of off shoring moves. there's no money saving in that.
Funny I was handed a project to fix a bunch of stuff Noida had sc--wed up. I was answering an outage when I got jumped on that I shouldn't be taking outages. So weird. Hours later I get the call that they forgot to pull my access.
It's a given that all of IT will move overseas, just as that sticker shock of the poorly designed migration to Google hosting. It's been a long while coming.
This is regarding corporate greed and over spending and mis planning, and then use work reduction as the escape goat to fix their mis management. All the Senior managers should get pay cuts too and downsize from their multi million dollar homes.
It blows my mind that this guy is blaming Indians when an American company is simply practicing capitalism. Think of how much profit will be seen on the balance sheet with all these people gone! The stock price will increase maybe even a dollar! Is that not what you wanted?
Typical America worship of CEOs, even when they moved your jobs oversea it is not their fault.
Take a look at this list, these guys are the ones to blame for these families.

Why in the world don’t they deserve to have good lives and you do?
It looks like non-American races are being targeted, but people do not realize that 98% of other races work hard and contribute money to the economy, which helps fund car loans. The taxes that non-American races pay each year also help pay for your children's financial aid. Let's work together and stop targeting specific races. I wonder if you were born in this country but do not respect its values. No wonder companies and the country have to bring in immigrants from other countries.
You're hate is misguided. Indian people want nothing but to work and feed their families just like you. Instead why not direct your outrage to the AMERICAN elite who are causing this? Its an AMERICAN company doing this. How are Indian people to blame for anything? Be mad at the rich elite who see you only as a number on a spreadsheet, as a figure that needs to be cut. Be mad at the system that allows for these types of things to be normal. Profits at all costs, thats the name of the game in corporate America but you want to blame people from India? You blame India you fall right into their trap. You think the billionaires want you to realize it was them effing you the whole time?
