Because of every thing is so cheap and so low even AI everywhere at Intel.
Same reason why average work hours at Intel are so low, why the stock is so low, and sales are so low.
Because of idi0ts like OP dragging down the quality of engineering.
Do you guys realize when one of you leaves or let go and your replacement is hired in India or Costa Rica, how much they get paid?
What is low? Compared to what? Compared to other companies in your same city/state?
intel is doing poorly duh
and the US brought in a ton of cheap labor
so people are easily disposed of and replaced
i am pretty sure "upper management" gets paid well for doing little
