Thread regarding Open Text Corp. layoffs

These are the necessary steps we must take

It's time we address the pressing issues that have created a hostile work environment and take decisive action to make our workplace safe, enjoyable, and productive again. Here are the necessary steps we must take:

  1. Leadership Change: We need a leadership review. Concerns about Mark's management style and performance must be formally documented and reviewed by higher authorities or the board of directors. Our voices need to be heard.
  2. Open Communication Channels: We must establish regular town hall meetings and anonymous feedback mechanisms. This will allow everyone to voice their concerns and suggestions without fear of retribution.
  3. Transparency in Financials: We demand transparency regarding the company's financial health and the criteria for layoffs. Clear information can build trust and reduce our anxiety.
  4. Employee Compensation Review: A thorough review of our compensation and benefits is essential. We need to push for fair and competitive wages, particularly when executive compensation is disproportionately high.
  5. Well-being Programs: Implement programs that promote our well-being, such as mental health support, stress management workshops, and recreational activities. A positive work culture is vital.
  6. Professional Development: Investing in our growth through training and development programs will create pathways for career advancement and job security.
  7. Recognize and Reward: Establish a system to recognize and reward hard work and achievements. This will foster a culture of appreciation and motivation.
  8. Work-Life Balance: Promote policies that support work-life balance, such as flexible working hours, remote work options, and adequate time off. Our well-being should be a priority.

These actions are non-negotiable if we want to transform our current environment into a positive, safe, and enjoyable workplace. It's time we come together and demand these changes for the betterment of everyone.

Scrap 1-6 as it's a complete waste of time, I don't want to hear a random moan about something that means nothing to anyone except them. I have heard enough from OT, definitely don't want to hear anymore. OT won't give a pay rise, they're broke. It's your job to improve yourself, if you are waiting for someone else to do that for you, you'll be left behind. That then gives me more time for 7&8.

Anyone posting a negative reaction is clearly an OT HR person OR someone who hates OpenText employees.
