Thread regarding Anthem Inc. layoffs

Most people want out

I think most people are actively looking to get out of this company. It is a very competitive job market for nurses right now so it’s difficult. The hiring freeze and no OT right now in the GBD area are of major concern. The company is losing money so there’s no doubt in my mind that RIF’s are coming. I mean they are also planning to transfer many departments to Carelon. Maybe Carelon has better managers, who knows. This company is so unorganized & makes rash decisions without thinking of the repercussions. It’s very sad. Many people are miserable here.

Perfectly said, @5iix+1sMx7Qau.

Shocked they'd give Carelon anything. They mess up most of the reviews they do for our plan and don't care.

I don't want out. Although my job is quite stressful at times, I still don't want out. I hope to have this job until I retire on my terms...not a forced retirement. My manager and Lead are both kind and I have peers who work well together. Yes, I agree this can be a toxic environment, but starting all over again is VERY stressful. I have over 25 years at Anthem / Elevance.
I know nobody is safe from RIF'S , so I don't have a false sense of security and am not delusional in thinking that I am any more secure here than anyone else.

I am definitely looking. My dept is a cluster. It's a popularity and political contest. Calling the leadership abusive would be too kind, and AR doesn't even care. I for sure show up for my 8 hours and nothing more; collect my paycheck and enjoy the rest of my life.

Everything you say is true, except for the part about the company losing money. Elevance is raking it in. Just look at their quarterly financial filings. A chunk of that is from reduced payroll expense. Less employees, less cost. Unfortunately, it also means cr-ppier service to our members (of which I am still one - at least for now).

I would agree that most people are looking to get out of this company. Game over for this place.
