Can we get a work stipend through HR if we work both our current job and the previous job they haven't backfilled? A friend in HR suggested I ask for one. Babysitters charges $25 - $30 per hr. My wife is a nurse working 12 hrs shift so she can't help. And now that I have to work 2 jobs I'm shelling out additional $300 a week for a babysitter.

Just by reading these posts, people sound so desperate and makes me sad. When I think of Charlie making $29 million, it makes me sick to my stomach.
I work for another bank, but used to work for Wells. Folks, employers don’t care about their employees. That sadly is a relic of the past. We are just a cost on a P&L sheet. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Ya’ll need to set some boundaries and let management feel the heat of being understaffed. Stop saying yes to unreasonable demands like working 2 jobs without additional pay
I work the job of 2+ people 6-7 days per week every week for months, and over 10 hours each day just to keep my sh---y "MEETS" rating and paycheck and insurance for me and my kids. Until I can find something comparable out there (and those who have and are looking know how bad the market is right now) my reward is....more work! Let me know how that extra pay request works out for you!
There are people who are being asked to drive 2 hours to the office and pay parking even though they signed remote offers. When asked if they would be helping those people in parking and commute costs they said no…good luck this firm doesn’t care how this stuff impacts you personally and financially.
i end up doing another group's QA because their work is complete garbage. i should get my pay plus some of theirs for their lack of everything/anything
I mean, you can ask, but don't expect them to take you seriously (or shell out the $). I would just tell my boss that I can't afford the extra babysitting and will have to stop doing two jobs. They've created a financial hardship for you that you didn't agree to take on. Draw the line before its too late & they just expect you to continue doing both jobs. I come from a dept where hardly anyone gets backfilled anymore when people leave. They will never backfill if the people remaining continue to do it for free for them.
Yes, I get $50/hour. I got Charlie's approval.
Hahahaha. This has to be a joke.
