Thread regarding UPS layoffs

Only 1 truck with A/C no tags on it to use and 1 new ice machine not hooked up. Why?

This is why some companies must have a Union to be forced to do what is right. In the summer heat the only truck with air conditioning sits not checked in or license tags on it to use. The new ice machine is a nice addition but is not plumbed or wired in and has set for a long time and not useable. But companies can say we did bring in A/C and ice machines. Waiting until the snow flies? Union contract was August 2023 so there was plenty of time to be ready for summer 2024.

The new UPS does not care about you and does not care if you die from heat stroke/exhaustion. All that matters to the pathetic looser in the corner office is her stock price.

Make sure the union local knows the ice machine is still in the box. Do follow up.

Thankful UPS is Union so the little people have a say and have the power to right any wrongs.

Cannot get away with "token" unconnected new ice machine or untagged new truck the only one with air conditioning that is not allowed to be driven at big centers but more likely to see this trick in the smaller centers. Items on the ground but not useable. lol

leaving a new ice making machine unconnected and a new truck --the only one with in cab air conditioning just lying dormant in view at a center, but not able to use them sounds political. political is never a word that will get employees to put out 110 percent. good honest treatment squeezes 110 percent out of workers.

With the ignition turned off at ever stop the air cond. keeps running if independent of truck battery (on its own charged battery). Nice and cool when driver hops back in truck. Battery dies at 8 hours+or- but at end of day when cooler anyway. Compared to reg. air cond. installed at factory which when ignition off at stops also shuts off a/c. This means a/c never fully gets a good chance to cool and recycle itself. Especially in town routes. Units are heavy and so is a second battery if needed.

Some drivers use the portable battery A/C and run it off the trucks battery. Lasts 8 hrs. on 1 charge. But draws down amps and triggers the shop to loose 4 to 5 hours on the new electrical trouble shooting ecm flag. The computer on board easily pinpoints the driver so permission has to be granted for any use. Heavy and loose flying in cab if accident. Rates a big No for me. Will not cool bulkhead area only cab anyway.
