Training shaming? If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck.....it's a duck. Calling it what it is - is not shaming and if shaming is felt that it's clear you aren't doing something right. Most if not all of lower tier admin support try to give feedback on how unorganized, inefficient and ineffective the training process is only to repeatedly not be heard but penalized for mistakes that could be avoided if the company WOULD JUST TRAIN PEOPLE CORRECTLY.... but nah that costs too much money (apparently more than the interest they bi--h about having to pay to providers because offshore can't process claims correctly) and to be fair we can't damage control those claims because they won't train us correctly either. For example they made us re-take COB training again with some bullsh-t idea that it was NEW and Improved - just to turn around a few weeks later to completely change the workflow and not bother to inform us or review it. Just went in one day and everything damn thing was different. HAHAHA training shaming - wth??

Training shaming - synonyms I see. Dare you ask for help to meet job expectations. High sky’s you speak of lack of training to anyone around you. You’ll be a scarlet letter. Just slink around and shake hands and fake it until you make it. Failure isn’t a fault, whistleblowing however certainly is. Keep your mouth shut. Learn your environment. Get by and head down. But what do I know. Just another troll here on the boards giving bad advice to bad employees or former employees jaded. What does any of this really mean or do for anyone?

Oh the book that can be written on this subject!! Training is and always has been below subpar. In claims ops they train you on "basic concepts" and then berate you for asking questions on complex scenarios. They do not train on the language used in the workflows or the the steps in those workflows. When they transitioned to "shared services" dropping analysts in different states LOBs there was zero training offered. I was flat out told NO when asked if there would be training or if we could get training when they did it to me. SINK OR SWIM is the Centene way. To top it off most of the uppers have never processed claims and have no clue what they are doing or what they are supervising. My TL and SSA don't even know how to price or coordinate benefits but I am supposed to ask them for help???!! I couldn't even get access to the pricing applications that they require me to use because they didn't want to pay for yet another analyst to have access. This company is beyond repair. They are dismantling bit by bit and they are gonna sell when they can - IF they can. I cannot even remotely see anyone d-mb enough to want to acquire whatever is left after the destruction they have caused.

I'm pretty sure it depends on your department? I got so much training and continue to do so. Im really curious what these other departments are like. Theres also the company learning courses that I use all the time. Just for personal learning. I find that so weird. How do you know what you're doing? They just handed you a laptop and a login? Not trying to say any stand point on the company, just that there are resources and I take advantage.

I had great training for the claims department, decent training for cost containment, and when I promoted to a health plan my training was to shadow a coworker and that was it.

It really depends on your department and manager…I had no training

I brought up not having any training to my supervisor shortly after I started and my concerns were ignored as well as my manager's manager telling me not to ask my own manager too many questions because they are really busy and don't have time. So pretty much from the get-go I knew I was on an island and would have to figure things out by myself or try to ask random people for help.

They don’t do training, it’s sink or swim.

There isn't any training. Senior leadership often commented on how normal it was (and ok) for their area.

What kind of training? Do you mean to be able to do your job, or training on new skills?
