If you're in global projects you might as well start to look elsewhere. Almost every aspect of the department scope can be completed in India for half the cost.
Bummer

The quality of work from BTC is measurably low. EM Management only see work products after correction by HC10 engineers.
Tracking of the poor quality is not allowed.
Poor quality, without tracking, with zero effort to remedy the root cause, with 100% commitment to double down on the root cause, is a recipe for another Valdez level event.
On the contrary, I would recommend staying.
BTC people can’t put one plus one together to make two. The ones we are hiring are failed engineers. They aren’t smartest one’s. The smarter one’s went to do true Engineering or MBA.
So what does it mean? We are creating a large (very large) group of mediocre GP in India. That means they will form the base of the organization, with little chance of advancing further. They would be happy with the peanuts of Expat assignments and boondoggles of coming to US on business trips.
The one in US now you have twice or better odds of becoming Executives, because those mediocre folks from BTC have no chance and capabilities.
Let folks leave because they are afraid of BTC. If you aren’t, then stay, you can move fast in career and make a ton of money, because your competition just got a lot weaker.
I guarantee, the smarter money is in staying in GP and not leaving. Remember it’s relative assessment, so if your pool is becoming diluted, it’s good for you.
There is no CAN about it.
This move is WELL in motion and proceeding with haste. For young engineers, if reading this you really need to get out ASAP. GP is clueless and run solely for the benefit of the individual careers of supervisors and above. Quality is not of importance... Hence actually one third of the cost is the ceiling.
Sick? No, GP is a cancer.
Can be if you are willing to accept a different outcome. I haven’t been impressed by the results I’ve seen the BTC engineers obtain. That being said I do t think management cares and agree that the plan of management is to shift all work to BTC engineers.
