Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

ExxonMobil Benefits

I was checking externally posted jobs and the job description had the following listed as a benefit.

"An ExxonMobil career is one designed to last. Our commitment to you runs deep: our employees grow personally and professionally, with benefits built on our core categories of health, security, finance, and life."

The whole paragraph above is a sham. Everyone internally knows that XOM career may be all but definitely not the one to last. So why is HR and those in charge of recruiting are posting these lies? And are candidates falling for these lies?

People like KQ and KS in emtec are still calling the shots. They’re out to get us all out of Houston while they secured their millions. Sure, this is an old post but it’s still relevant. KQ and KS can take their millions to the bank and eff off while BTC and lower cost centers run this place to the ground

This was once true but those days are long gone. Over the last 15 to 20 years there has been an ongoing year on year consistent reduction in employee benefits.

The exxon benefit is for upper management to gain while the bottom gets scraps. That what it has all been about

You all realize that the fact you can leave AND that this place is a high-salaried sh!thole are mutually exclusive facts, right?

@OP Pretty much every company says something like this about itself in a job posting. Most functioning adults just write it off as BS and keep scrolling.

A lot of you act like EM is your spouse. It’s not. It’s a job. If you’re so unhappy that you’re scrolling your company’s external job postings just to complain about the wording, then you really should consider moving on.

@oja+1talhNkY, yes it is a business. It is just that ExxonMobil runs it cunningly.

@ngn+1talhNkY, looks like your comment has stung useless alumni's of colleges you called out. Lol. And their downvoting is a proof of them su-king up to and for each other.

The HR person who posted that was PIP’d for violating the records retention policy by using a propaganda posting from 1994

So sad. I fell for it. Gave the best years of my professional career to a company that handed me an NSI the year I turned 50.

No forewarning. Was told, “Tough rank cycle, lots of competition.”

They know they have you by the short hairs @ that point in life. Or, you can leave: they really don’t care. Everyone is replaceable. It’s just business.

HR's view point is, it's not a lie if it helps them serve and promote the agenda of their master, DW and MC. And besides HR is a spineless , manipulative, and a slave org. only, paid to serve the needs of their master.

No educated and talented oe is falling for it. But of course there are desperate talentless - UIUC, OSU. LSU, Kansas, TAMU etc. graduates who will take anything with a smile.
