Does anybody else feel like most of the job openings are nothing but phantom jobs? I've applied for positions I'm overqualified for and never received a response. I don't remember it being like this the last time I was looking for a job, although it has been a while.

Inflates job reports and makes a case for why companies have to look elsewhere as they can’t find “qualified” resources to fill.
those are jobs to show shareholders that we are growing.
Yes many of those posted jobs are already reserved for contractors who will be convered to perm position. They’re just posted to comply to regulations. I learned this directly from the hiring manager when I asked him about a job posting.
