If they're getting rid of Band 4 managers, anyone know what departments and what the plan is for their teams? Merging teams i suppose, now that they've shrunk down in size enough by not backfilling, making everyone miserable and forced to cover more work than should be expected from one person, its all part of the master plan.

I barely see my manager as it is, to have huge teams and stressed out managers for a troop of leftover miserable overworked employees sounds like a terrible plan, but not surprising. I used to love this job too, so much has changed. Have kept hoping one of the smart ones up there would turn it all back around, see how this toxic culture game plan to save a buck is sinking the company, but seems all the smart ones have left or have a foot out the door.

How do they choose which managers stay and go, biggest factor probably largest salary gets kicked to the curb? In that case, ill be over here crossing my fingers it's the controlling, power hungry managers that slithered and boot licked their way to highest salary spot and ines to go. My manager is actually a great person, one of the only reasons I stay, having a good manager is crucial and at least helps make all this cr-p we've all been through past couple years bearable. Genuine, smart, cares, doesnt run her mouth to hear herself talk, encouraging, actually surprised she hasn't left already with most of the other good ones, honestly. But its going to be my last straw if I have to move teams to one of the egotistical drama queens, I can't deal with any more micromanagement, already have new systems making sure I'm clicking every few minutes, take away the decent middle management and cigna may get their wish and see mass exodus. I don't think I could do it.

Next attack, if they want more gone like usual, will no doubt be slashing our benefits this fall and then charging us even more and spinning it theyve done us a favor.
I'm going to work on dusting off that resume. Good luck to us all tomorrow.

Only band 4 this month????

Does anyone know the time frame for these layoffs? Is this a Cigna Christmas present?

“Cigna IT employees have been ranked since 1973”

But Cigna was founded in 1982

News-Flash. Who cares what may or may not have happened 50+ years ago?

Despite your stated preferences regarding our posting, any one of us will contribute as we see fit. If that bothers you, the internet is a big place and I'm sure you can find a more suitable venue somewhere.

I think licktheboot.com is right up your alley.

Sooo, as a band 4 manager, if I was not asked to review staff does that mean we are safe or does that mean I am not?

IT manager here. I had to rank all my employees last month so I and other managers know layoffs are coming. We’ve heard it will be company wide, so no matter what area you are in you are at risk. Especially if you are in a job that can be offshored to a clueless unintelligible HIH employee. I am being forced to interview and “hire” HIH and not a single one I’ve talked to yet came anywhere close to my current contractors or FTEs. It is going to practically halt my team to have to train these HIG people who will then be working at night with no supervision and only a 2 hour overlap for any collaboration or discussion. This is a terrible idea and Cigna is making a big mistake with this strategy. I am sure it will save on payroll, but the cost of messing up business and slowing work will be very very high. If you get laid off it might not be such a bad thing since those of us still here will be putting out more fires and cleaning up more mess

Cigna Information Protection. No clue but from all the years I have worked with CIP, they don’t know a pencil from a pen. I guess it could be worse, HIH.
