Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Who's on the chopping block?

In February 4250 quality employees lost their roles. Splunk employees remained because as a condition of the purchase they're not allowed to be laid off for three years.

Cisco Capital (leasing division of Cisco) was hit hard and heavy in February so I can't imagine they're going to hit them again.

I heard middle management and sales. Thoughts, advice, wisdom?

I am a splunker and surprised to see 3 years safely noise here.
I received special retainer bonus ( outside of anual retainer) but nowhere it was mentioned I will not be fired .

I question that the Feb. cut was “quality employees.” We used it as a shortcut to the PIP process.

CX was destroyed by ELT after firing Maria. It is all ELT blame game and power hunger, why the poor engineers and lower grades have to be the victim of this war ? All those laif of should file a law suit consulting a legal attorney they lay them off

How about if you were hit by the LR back in February, but found a new position in the company?

I was a high performer, but got axed for "budgetary reasons." Is there any reason to believe I wouldn't still have a target on my head, or is there a policy in place to not repeatedly hit the same employees (who managed to move internally).

You are right this is only for ELT as they certainly have incentives to stay for a least 3 years after the merger… it’s just speculation but it is usually done like this

What group do you work in?

The Splunk employment for 3 years is only for those who have a contractual employment agreement. It is not across the full employee base but limited to key Executives identified as part of the merger agreement.

In Germany the splunk guys are safe for 12 month. What I don‘t know is which date is/was the start of this 12month period.

i think the 3 years only apply to ELT and critical folks who already have negotiated their golden parachute. Absolutely no way, it applies to entire Splunk! Never heard of clause like this in a public acquisition.

It’s certainly part of the acquisition agreement … and also they have to stay for 3 years

Can you provide any reference to the condition that Splunk staff not be laid off for three years? The only place I've ever seen this referenced is on this site, so I'm inclined to not believe it.
