Company for sale

It seems like they are getting the company ready to sell. Any thoughts?

They quietly sold off at least one arm that I know of to private equity within the last year. I'm sure there are and will be others.

ELV has a whole won't be sold, but they will certainly shed unprofitable orgs to PE. In my very limited experience with PE, selling to such an outfit will allow them to benefit from if that outfit turns around the org. Buyback option, if you will. Someone can maybe correct me on that, but one thing I know for a fact is that an arm is in process of being turned over, even though I'm not sure when it will be effective.

As one poster stated, they will sell parts of the business. It's much easier to sell business when the tech platforms are not proprietary. If you see changes in IT, like migrating to clould services, migrating prproprietary systems to SaaS solutions and outsourcing, this is a good indication that they are setting up to sell.

It's possible the company may sell off sections. I anticipate Elevance will get out of Government Business (Caid, Care, CHIP, etc.)

Nope....this is what big companies do. Spend some time on the Optum or UnitedHealth layoff page (which is way bigger than Elevance) and you see they do this all the time.

Really? Who will buy it? Regulators will shut the purchase down.

The company may not be for sale, but my stock certainly is. Been dumping what little I’ve accumulated in the ESOP in drips and drabs when there’s a price pop.

That's been my thought for some time.

It would make sense. When companies start eliminating the good employees in these regular cycles, it’s a sign.
