Does anyone know how much COBRA coverage costs now?

"$570/ month for my husband and me."

That's helpful, thanks. We have a child too so I can expect it to be a bit more than that.

Obviously it's expensive. I was just wondering if anyone here knew how bad it is.

I was wondering this too, particularly if I voluntarily separate. Keeping the coverage I have isn't a problem. But in the case of voluntarily leaving, I would want coverage from day 1.

if you elect cobra you have to stay with the plan you already have. The only thing you can change is who is covered. for me and my spouse It’s 500 a month and I have the HSA high deductible plan.

It’s around $1000, but…

Cobra can be retroactively purchased up to 90 days after a layoff. So you can skip getting it for 3 months. If something serious happens, you can have it covered after the fact.

NEVER pay for cobra on day 1.
