Thread regarding HCSC (Health Care Service Corporation) layoffs

API Increasez

All the API % targets are increasing by approx 1.2x (e g. Managers increase from 15% to 18%, Directors increase from 20% to 25%, and the max payout for all is also increasing from 150% to 200%. This means a Manager's max bonus is now ~36% of their prior year salary. This is effective for current year, so for the bonus payouts next March. They should have announced this at the same time as the PTO change, but HR communications sc--wed the pooch again.

Does the new api bonus payout require you to be employed the date of payout

They will make achievements harder on the evaluations to justify not paying out more.

The API change looks good on the surface. But March is a long way away. Will anyone actually be rewarded the new higher percentages? I hope so, bit I will believe when I see.

I’m waiting to see what the next pull back is. they give one thing, then take away something else. That’s the pattern now

I'm on a wait and see approach to see if this is actually beneficial. Last year most people got 128% of their bonuses when the company did really well (doesn't seem like many people go the max of 150%). If we ever got 200% during a good year I'd eat my words, but I feel like the budget for these bonuses will be similar for the departments even with the increase in target percentages.

i thought it was only managers based on the wording of the email, but my target is up too so it must include mid/sr professionals.

keep in mind the 200% cap is determined by company performance and changes from year to year.

curious if this will increase morale or retention for those of us who have been applying elsewhere.

is it only managers that see the target api % (e.g. 15 to 18) increase?

Not in the slightest, it's been planned for a long time. Quite presumptuous to think anyone at that level cares about "backlash".

I have a feeling this was a result of total backlash from the PTO changes.
