Can anyone confirm that there may be a layoff coming?

Good news! The layoffs were canceled because Trump was re-elected!
Not sure the last poster understands how things work here. While we should all work hard and do good work, doing so does not keep you from getting let go - especially at HCSC
Someone had to try and make this thread political. The foolishness is all around us. The truth is the economy is not bad. There are some softer areas of the economy but we are not in dire straits. The way to survive what’s ahead is to do a great job daily. You’ll make yourself practically indispensable. Be the person no one wants to lose. Our company is doing poorly with expenses is in one area and we need to get the expenses down. If we don’t then the new bonus structure won’t mean a thing.
No one knows for sure!!! Still hiring new classes .
Yes, layoff are coming. Due to all the signals mentioned and because the economy is much much worse than what is being said outloud. Layoffs across all industries are occurring and will continue to increase over the next 6 months or more. News is not reporting on the layoffs.
Restructuring doesn’t always mean lay offs
i have been looking for hope that it's worth sticking things out, but knowing others are being told to look is 😬
what ki-ls me is i moved over to government programs from another department that was very secure. it had its issues, but looming layoffs was not one. the timing is pretty awful.
My VP flat out told my entire division to start looking for other opportunities internally and externally as he doesn’t know what going to happen, but has heard magic word “restructuring” over the past several months
I totally forgot about the quiet layoff in 2019. It hit a lot of the elt and old folk that couldn’t learn new skill set
It’s quite possible however my guess is it would be early next year to avoid PTO payouts. The recent changes in the PTO policy would line up with that
No one can confirm but all the signs are there. The acquisition will cause redundancies and that makes for a nice opportunity for other departments to consolidate and cut anyone not pulling their weight. If you’re doing a great job and following policies you have nuthin to worry about
Confirmed
I agree it could be one coming. The executives are all acting sneaky and skate around a direct answer when asked why they reduced our PTO. Don't trust ol' slick Maurice.
I have no knowledge of a layoff, but would not be surprised. The last massive layoff (I think it was late 2019?) resulted in lots of accumulated PTO payouts. That is when the PTO carryover limits started, so the fact that has been changed again tells me a layoff might be possible.
