Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

I have a feeling...

No proof, no insights, just a feeling this reorg might end the Michael Dell era.

Not because people will move him out or are not happy with him, but just because he is done with the company. Realised his dreams and want to start a next chapter.

He once said he did regret he had given the company his family name, esp. when it went south with Kevin Rollins and feld he had an obligation to step back in again.

So maybe he is now cleaning up the house, making it ready for the next big thing. Could be an aqusition/merger where 'overhead' has been removed, so the other party can pay a fair (higher) price for the core. Good exit strategy to get his name of the building....

That strange move with Chuck W. as co-COO feels like 'plan A' didn't work out as planned, and we are whitnissing plan B'. CMO, CFO and CTO saw the plan and steps out early.

I'm probably wrong, but can't get my head around certain things that happend over te last year(s). This includes the sell of VMware, a company that could have turned Dell into a true (cloud) solution provider. Michael publicly stated in the past that the future of Dell would reside in Software/Solutions. Broadcom is now ki-ling it, but Michael cashed in at least 2 times on VMware (IPO and selling it as majority shareholder).

And looking at the SEC fillings, Silverlake is quickly decreasing it's share in Dell.

Yeah, I know what you think, but it is a guts feeling I have after working for the company for 29 years in 3 months (if I make it)

Yah; I believe Michael and Elon have a plan for AI together. Bldg 1 is full of billion dollar equipment for no reason. AI, new executives and Dell is about to be transformed. MD will be sitting on a beach enjoying retirement pretty soon. Well deserved!

Been saying this for close to 2 years now. Final chapter will be the sale of the company, padding the billions for his philanthropical endeavors.

It's close....

So MD with the purchase of EMC+Vmware, and the way they cooked the books to spin Silver Lake into the ownership of VMware while dumping the EMC-debt onto Dell-Corp then when Vmware made Silver Lake ~$50B who cares about Dell-corp? they debt anchored Dell and are using Bane Capital to try to clean up its value to do what?? not sure, take it private again as it fails? walk away?
Dell is the new IBM, with management who know the end game, and are not telling.

Giving the company his family name is probably greatest thing he could have done. It is now in the eyes, ears and the minds of billions. This is an immense energy. How much life are you all spending repeating his name? Thinks.

Speaking of DS, he just sent out the most non-informative, pointless, org update. Gee, thanks Doug...

MD is not going anywhere neither is DELL. His Swiss masters will let him go when they feel fit. Until then he has a job to do.

If I remember correctly, Michael is explaining why he owes Jeff everything, in one of his books.

When Dell was at a low piint, almost bankrupt, everybody was leaving/hired by others. Jeff stayed and committed personally to Michael.

So Michael paid back with COO role and a lot of money. They have a very close friendship for life.

You forgot to mention Chief AI Officer also leaving Dell.

That was a clown with very limited management skills - a tech support dude who somehow got promoted to director and from there inexplicably to VP.. Extremely incompetent clown while he was at EMC. Not sure how he was promoted in such way..

JC is the root cause of all problems in Dell.

JC is one of the very few people in high positions who really knows what he is doing and why he is doing it.

Similar feelings. CMO leaving was not voluntary. My guess JC is why JB (now ex-CAIO) is no longer around, in addition to Chuck Whitten leaving so abruptly. He's also the person driving RTO. I don't know what JC has on MD, but the fact he's still COO is astounding to me. He's not C-Suite worthy, and goodness help us if he's successor if MD retires. But yeah, I'm sure Michael is planning his exit. It has to happen eventually...

JC is the root cause of all problems in Dell. He needs to be removed along with “actors” like DS in services
