I don't understand why Centene simply doesn't offer every single one of us a chance to volunteer for layoffs. I am beyond certain that enough people would accept to negate the need for layoffs for a long time to come. People are tired of this place and want out. Why not let us leave happy and keep those who want to stay?

Severance is two wks pay for every year of service, but cap at 26 wks. This was for the MHN team that was laid off in 2023 and 2024.
I volunteered in place of someone else, but was told NO. I quit without severance. I am so FREE from the stress and this chaotic place. The upside, I save enough that I never need to work again. Fnancial Independence is the way to go. Having the F*** you money to walk away.
The severance $$ is NOT what you expect.
How much severance pay did they offer?
Those of you were recently laid off; what departments were you with?
I would happily volunteer.
I know of several F100 companies that, when poised for a layoff, will either 1) Ask if anyone wants to voluntarily be laid off or 2) Consider those being asked to be laid off.
And they give severance based off Years Served and do NOT Cap it at x.
Centene:
- Will never ask for voluntary layoffs
- Will NOT lay you off if you request it, in hopes that you'll leave.
The severance payout is arbitrary and they do cap it for long-tenured employees.
20 years. Laid off Thursday.
I’d gladly volunteer in place of someone else
I prayed to be laid off since the last big one in 2023 and it finally happened on Thursday after almost 10 years. I was miserable for the past 2 years, my management was terrible and the department incompetent. I felt like such a weight was lifted and told them “Thanks, this is exactly what I wanted” I feel so much better and FREE!!
