Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Layoff Target Tuesday 8/6

I realize there has been much speculation on this topic. What we know is a reduction of some sort is coming, along with reorgs. What has been different this time vs last year is less info has been confirmed, until now. In flux is the number of those impacted, however we can say with 95% certainty the notifications will begin on Tuesday. Getting all notifications completed, along with VSP approvals before the All Hands is the goal. Like last year, it will happen the week prior, which is this coming week. My knowledge ends there, I’m unsure if other waves will extend past next week.

Unless there is a massive layoff again. The odds of you getting laid off are almost nothing. Grow some ba--s. You will know when a massive layoff is happening. it is not anytime soon.

This message board is made up of people who were laid off. The company is huge. Over 50,000 people. Five people let go on a team here and there has always been a thing.

And once again you can’t trust anything posted here… no one should be using this forum as a reliable source for anything layoff related

Nothing has happened yet or will happen. I have not seen anything concrete.

Even though I’m stuck on this sinking ship with zero opportunities to advance, at least I get to watch my boss scramble with this left foot, right foot cr-p that gets worse every day.

The next round will be less about IC's (except for the low-hanging fruit: yes you, the mouse-movers) and more about middle management, with more focus on overlap, underperformance, and those with too few direct reports.

I personally used to search for the severance documentation. AThey generally update it about 3 months prior to layoffs. I noticed it in 2022 and 2023 when the rumors were out there. I got cut in the 2023 one, so can't do that now 😆

Well, if there is a layoff, 3Q comes with an asterisk for the "One Time Charge" for restructuring and severance.
