Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Executives work in the store!

We need an episode of Undercover Boss, with every person in top positions go and work undercover in stores.
If you are familiar with the show, every "boss" sees what it is really like working on the front line, challenges, how are the staff work (and sometimes how they dont)don't. It opens their eyes.
Can this please happen so it brings them to their senses?
Has any of the ivy tower folks actually worked in a store? I don't mean a store visit, I mean putting on a name badge, ringing a register, pulling orders, dealing with everything a store associate or manager does for an entire 10 hour work day???
If they have not, why?
Every company, the most successful and happiest, are those companies the head honcho started as the janitor.
They need a serious reality check.

Actually, an undercover employee would be most enlightening. That's when a store manager who is running a multi-million-dollar store with no staff goes to work with the company's executives. I'm sure the elaborate lunches and dinners on Follett's dime would be eye opening for the people who haven't had much of a vacation in a while.

I don't want them anywhere near our stores. They'll find more things to cut. What is Jimmy doing standing around for a minute after helping 20 customers. We need to cut Jimmy😭

The executives and owners are clueless about what the workers are doing and their contributions. They take zero responsibility for the outcomes of their decisions. Not a great place to work….be forewarned.

If they are not going to let stores have staff, then they need to.

Reminds me of FCR wholesale. Every employee participated during inventory, and many travelled to assist during buyback season. Later George C. would personally visit and thank each person for taking time away from home and family to support the company. Often this would include a card and small bonus and always delivered by him in person. Old school Follett truly valued Each and Every Associate.

Kudos on this suggestion! They can only deal with store issues, not be glued to their computers or phones for non store issues, and be an associate. I am sure a very few would try this challenge.
