Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Just tell us?

I’ll never understand the logic of waiting until Monday to drop the hammer, if they would just give us to scoop on a Friday afternoon we’d all have a couple days to digest the changes……. Instead we all get a gut punch to start the quarter, lame.

We are all just furniture - Dell as a whole does not care about you or your feelings. It's a hateful place.

It's all about typical Dell El CHEAPO UNETHICAL methods, give sales people their quotas a MONTH+ AFTER the half starts to save Mr Dell a month+ of sales and pipeline they can ADD to your quota!? Same for layoffs, theyve dome pretry much on Christmas eve, doesn't matter, all about when to save or make more money. We all know about the guy who blew his brains out in his car at austin this last round laid off, but did you see any email or town hall afterwards? It's just when and how can they save or make more $, even if they gut a $B and then waste a $B on dead products like storage and apex, as long as decisions are led by legacy EMC or out of touch former laptop PC execs in t-shirts 🤣 they know what they're doing, even when they're 🙈. Just remember, no matter what, don't let it impact your health!!! There's always another job, and usually a better one you can retrain for since dell doesn't do any REAL training like all other big tech cos, since.. Dell is CHEAP!!!! & going through the motions on most new tech.

Yep. Invites will go out over the weekend. Most will be on Sunday and last day will be Friday. It is what it is.

All about Michael’s pocket. Haven’t you noticed it’s always after last day of quarter. He wants sales guys to continue to line his pockets until he cuts their throat.

Don't ruin my weekend. Wait until Monday. I'm ok with Monday.

If the players knew some of them were getting cut on Monday, they probably wouldn't play very well. And NONE of them would play well, instead of just the ones getting cut. Which is what we're seeing with employee productivity right now. Everyone knows the list was put together months ago and anything we do now isn't going to influence it. Just tell everyone and let them get on with their lives. Morale is in the dumpster.

If you were a coach would you tell your players they were getting cut during a game..? No, you’d wait till after the game. They won’t risk anything with it being end of quarter/half. It’s all about bringing in dollars right now. I’m not defending them I’m just telling it as it is.
