Coffee chats at EMHC

I’ve worked lots of sites from Baytown, Dallas, downtown, Greenspoint, Dallas again, and now EMHC.

I’ve been at EMHC for a year now. It’s wild to me seeing so many coffee chats with executives. At other locations there wasn’t really a spot to do it. With the campus, new organization model and push to breakaway the silos, you can’t be introverted or shy anymore in my opinion. You need a network to protect you.

If you’re not having coffee chats, schedule them or you’ll be left behind. It’s sad but that’s the reality of how to succeed in the company now. Get an idea of who the assessors are in the performance reviews and su-k up to them.

People are still doing the coffee chat thing? The most condescending disrespectful 'up front and personal' dialogue with the cookie cutter 'leader' intended to inspire and motivate?

Surely they can only now be doing these to the naive in BTC? Nobody else can buy it??????!!!!!

You can't trust anyone at EMHC, so no point in having coffee with them. Waste of time.

Well, I've recently actually sat down physically for a coffee chat with one of the company's SVPs.
Could not have been a more delightfully happy older gent, constantly chuckling and clinking his mug with his finger.
Speaking vacuous nonsense about the bands he saw live back in the 80's. Flock of Seagulls was a band but also describes what was going on in this guys head.

As a coffee talk, it was nothing special. Dunkin'-level.
