Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

The big announcement is real

The big announcement that people are hearing about is real. Today claim managers filled in second line leaders and on Thursday team managers will find out. Team managers can start releasing information on aug 2nd. It’s good for some people but sc--ws over others.

I don’t know about that but after the lack of any vision displayed it sure looks like he is exposed with minimal influence.

The pension isn’t a drain. Due to the market gains for the last decade, it’s been years since SF has had to put a penny into it. The 7% 401k contribution for all these new employees is a much bigger expense line item.

If the pension is such a financial drain the first place to start would be to reduce benefits to existing pensioners. That is the first play for companies in that scenario. That way it doesn’t impact tenure or productivity.

the person on here that whines about the burden of the pension every other week wherever they can insert it couldn't find the pension expense line item on a statement if you drew a map and gave them the coordinates in 25 font.

The pension is fully funded. This isn’t the Post Office.

The pension is a financial drain on the company. It must be frozen immediately and mandatory conversion to IRAs for all. End the insanity now.

Leadership at all levels at SF is filled with reprobates.

The vast majority of the people who post up and down votes as well as comments are obviously those in leadership who got there by as one manager put it to me: It's who you schmooze with." A KH type.

Its just an attempt by the website owners to increase engagement. Im not sure anyone who actually works at SF posts here anymore. Just the one disgruntled person and HCL people still mad, and the website owners, easy to spot them with ambiguous posts like this, and the last "big announcement" thread. SF doesnt announce big announcements like this, which is why idt never happend

Really? This place hires and hires struggling to keep good people, but then looks how to get rid of tenured employees in any way they can with new schemes all the time. Saving money this way has failed miserably, but as usual the bonuses for some are always good when they’re fu--ing labor over.

Good for them! Its long overdue that those six digit overpaid politicians get to work actually doing some work. For too long they have produced zero costing the company way too much money. Focus on the customer. Get the pendings down to be able to properly investigate the claim instead of just throwing money at it. Then, the numbers will fall to a workable equilibrium. That will result in a more lean and happier work environment.
