Thread regarding Gainwell Technologies layoffs

Maybe Gainwell doesn't deserve to keep going.

Think about it.

  1. Everyday people go to work worrying if that day is the day when they get let go. It's so bad that now not only are the managers gas-lighting their subordinates. But the team leads and co-workers are doing it as well, and to each other.

Today alone, I saw a supervisor trying to gas-light individuals in a meeting. And in the past week, I've had individuals in other departments and co-workers attempt to gas light me. I guess everyone is in survival mode trying to stay on-top

  1. Managers don't care. They make half-baked decisions or put into motion things others will have to clean up. They have an ideal to do something, but don't have a clue on how to implement it. Countless man hours lost putting out fires because of it.
  1. You can complain about jobs going overseas. But unless there's an adverse affect on a manager, they couldn't care less. Unfortunately, they have a lot more background information or aware of certain situations that the normal worker bee doesn't have knowledge of. Automatically, you're at a disadvantage.

Do what you have to do in order to exit on your own terms and not theirs.

Gainwell definitely doesn’t deserve to keep going. This place needs shut down.

Saw some significant losses today on my team. We have a small team of 10. We lost 4 today. Cost cutting was the reason given to us.

@new hire. Keep your head up. You will find something. I have to agree with the previous poster. Don’t stay very long or all the negativity will start to get to you. And really Gainwell is simply not a good place to be. They are having financial struggles, constant leadership changes, weekly layoffs, and pushes to offshore as much as possible. All jobs are in danger.

I wish I could walk away today. I will as soon as I find another job.

@new hire

Wishing you well. I hope you land a new gig soon. Gainwell is definitely not worth hanging onto. If you have to stay greater than a few months it will shorten your life from dealing with the toxicity and stress. The poor treatment. It’s pretty much a Russian prison.

Don’t stay a prisoner.

@Perry

Posts like this make me even more worried for my job.

I know the Operational Excellence team is going to be eliminated soon. And that means my job will be gone.

That makes me feel so pressured to find something else as soon as I can. My boss is terrible. He doesn’t know what he is doing. He is a talker and not a listener. He has no idea how to manage people. I feel sorry for the team that have had him as a boss for years.

I think at this point the only thing that can ease my worry is to leave Gainwell. It’s too bad I even took this job. I should have done a bit more research first.

I’m so tired of Gainwell Technologies. It su-ks the life out of employees. I am hunting high and low for another job. I need out. It’s not worth staying at this company. Leaders are toxic. They don’t know what they are doing. They don’t care about people. The place operates illegally and unethically. They lay off constantly. Everyone is in fear of losing their job. All of their processes are broken, if they even have a process for anything. Then they go and don’t even reward their employees with a raise. They force the poor performance reviews even if the performance isn’t poor.

I have never worked at a place that is so dysfunctional. They are in constant turmoil. Constant restructuring. If the leaders have been restructuring for three years it is obvious that they don’t have a clue what they are doing.

Time for me to walk away as soon as I am able. I am amazed at how people think that layoffs won’t happen to them. Or that think that GW is a good company. You are in denial.

Good luck to all the good people looking for a way out.

Though incompotent GW India resources are actually employees with equal rights, they are not contractors OR some second class I’d-ots

I think most would agree that the managers and project managers are Gainwell are less than par for the course.

Everyday is like reinventing the wheel. Same people, same behavior, same problems. You have managers with little hands-on experience or they're part of the good ol' boys club and were brought into the fold by friends that worked with them in the past.

Career Gainwell employees are so broken they call constant layoffs and firings "workforce reduction". You people have Stockholm Syndrome. This is not normal behavior for any company. Seek help.

Every company does NOT go through WFR. Gainwell is in a constant WFR. That’s not normal. That’s not a good way to run a business. It is no way to test employees.

If you think every company has WFRs then that is a story you are telling yourself. I have worked many jobs. And none of them are as bad as Gainwell. Complaining about minuscule things, yeah not really. It’s not small that the company lays people off every week. Or that they rip off their customers and steal from them to pay fat salaries of terrible leaders. Yeah this place has monolithic problems. Far from minuscule. It’s a miracle they are still operating since they choose to do so unethically and illegally. This place is a mess. The leaders have no business running this company. They are incompetent. And they have zero use for the employees.

You folks complain about everything that is miniscule. Every company goes thru wfr. You all act you are entitled and Gainwell is the worst employer in existence. Go work in retail or in fast food, it is beyond worse than the job you working at

I used to care about my output and motivation for this company. I quickly realized, however, that the oldguard and management are only out for themselves to ensure they stay ahead of new blood. So, instead of making a difference and hoping to make an impact (even if it's microscopic) on the culture with my fellow developers, I've instead quit caring and now I do the bare minimum and keep what I do know to myself while the senior staff and managers keep failing because of the hole they keep digging themselves deeper into day by day.

Short and simple: No, Gainwell doesn't deserve to keep going.

I completely agree, I have this feeling every day I come to work of just dread. Almost like just get it over with already. I look at my team and think ok who is in good with our manager and will take my job if they get the chance and I hate that because I truly have some great coworkers. Just a cesspool and this company breeds backstabbing. VP's will cut as many as they need to save their jobs, one VP can make 5-6 times in just base salary what a regular employee makes. That doesn't include bonus', equity etc. So you might feel like you are in good with your boss but remember at the end of the day they will do what needs to be done to save their paycheck.
