Thread regarding F5 Networks Inc. layoffs

Labor unions

Many tech workers are starting to unionize in geographies that allow it, mostly at big companies like Google and Amazon. I'd be interested to know whether any F5 locations have unions and how much penetration they have.

Why would anyone in the industry subscribe to such a racist ideology? It’s 2024…

Forget unions. It's better to leave a toxic company or industry and start something new on your own.

It never has and never will have happened in tech. It’s not like labor which you need in your neighborhood- actual people coming to do stuff or at factories or shipping or groceries doing stuff. With us they just say ok you want more human rights? No sweat ah look a new HQ magically opened in

I am not aware of any unions but I agree that it's time to start talking about it. Before joining F5 the current head of HR was "driving efficiencies" at Google. The 0 to 1 growth in labor unions during her time there tells us all we need to know. This is not someone that an ELT brings onboard to win hearts and minds.

F5 employees should be proactive and get organized. F5 will not be playing nice.
