Thread regarding Nationwide (Insurance and Financial Services) layoffs

Worst Company!

Nationwide is a joke! They do NOT care about their employees. All the executives want to do is line their pockets. People get promoted to positions because they are “Yes Man’s” and provide absolutely no value to the position that they are in. Once in those “leadership” positions they target the people that could threaten their position. Claims is constantly being targeted and moving to a low touch status. Everyone is over worked and under paid. It’s time for the “real” people to move on and find better opportunities. Mark my words, there will be more IT, Claims, and even SIU positions being eliminated. Which is sad because these are the people that look out for the company. But of course, there are people in power that don’t need to be there.

SIU leadership is a joke! They continue to be passed from one AVP or VP to the next that has absolutely no experience in SIU or idea how to even lead their department. Their claim count continues to increase. They are going to get rid of field personnel and begin outsourcing to a vendor company to handle their field work. Strap in SIU, it’s coming your way sooner than you think.

Outsourcing of commercial processing dragged on for several painful years. Leadership treated the employees condescendingly during the whole process while we worked insane amounts of mandatory overtime. Not to mention they gaslit us about how great the offshore team was and how fast they were getting up to speed - all while threatening our severance packages if we didn’t toe the line.

Most passive aggressive company I’ve ever worked for.

Pouring a beer in your laptop sounds like a great idea till you remember they will probably take the cost out of your severance pay if they realize you’ve deliberately sabotaged the equipment. Pour yourself a pint instead.

The leaders at Nationwide are liars.
They kept underwriters in limbo
about their jobs when they knew exactly
what their plans were. There was extra pressure the past two months to clean out past due tasks so the fat, useless, lazy leaders didn't have to when everyone was cut loose. I can't wait to pour a giant beer into my laptop before I send it back.

It's amazing how leadership is never accountable. Re-org after re-org and it's the same leadership. Aren't they embarrassed?

Move on from Nationwide… you won’t believe how fresh the air is outside! Real companies communicate openly with their employees and hold their own leaders accountable for results.

Hopefully us effected can find greener pastures. I’m disappointed to start over somewhere new after putting in 10 years at NW
