Thread regarding Anthem Inc. layoffs

Does the 8/8 RIF factor in WFH?

I’ve read many of the threads discussing how the list of 8/8 RIFs were selected. Anyone know if remote workers are more likely to be RIFd? I heard other managers tell people that are WFH only they encourage them to apply for open hybrid positions but then hear later they are not considering WFH. I can read between the lines but I’ve lost all trust in what management is saying.

Absolutely. Why do you think that “Voluntary Relocation” policy is being pushed and recognized lately?

There is no way to know. I’ve heard this round is a headcount reduction only as opposed to targeting certain jobs, pay levels, wfh… from what I know almost every line of business and team will be impacted in some way. I’ve heard numbers thrown around from 12% reduction to upwards of 30%.

Some say it’s not driven by wfh but some say it is. Some say there is no layoffs some say there is. I don’t trust management or this company at all. They lie like a rug. I’m just counting down the days til that day. Just want to know. At this point my personal opinion is they always go for older people , high paying people, then factor in poor performance and etc. but we know this company and they can lay off just because management don’t like you. There is no rhyme or fair reason with this company. I always exceed always volunteer never call out in 15 plus years but I’ll prolly be laid off bc that’s jus anthem - I mean why keep ur good workers lol
