I doubt this makes you feel any better, but I know of many people laid off between December and February who still only received 50% of their bonus, and I know of people laid off in those time frames who didn't receive any of it. After all, the more they pay out a laid off employee, the less they can give the survivors. Each leader gets a bucket to work with. I have even personally witnessed senior leadership intentionally reducing bonuses for existing employeees to spread the remaining wealth amongst themselves, before they even got to rifd employees.

An August layoff with a September termination date does virtually guarantee no bonus, but being laid off even in Q4 or Q1 wouldn't protect you. When there's a way to sc--w over the employee, they find a way.

Page 3 of both documents explains the difference in the statement under "introduction."

ETB is for "associates who would be eligible for SUB but are ineligible due solely to the associate's or former associate's death, disability, retirement, return to school, and/ or new employment."

On page 7 of ETB, It states if you find another job you " may" be eligible to receive 50% of your termination pay for the remainder of the benefit. I do not see anywhere in the documentation where it states what determines your eligibility for the 50% benefit if you find new employment.

Everyone, I would suggest reading through both documents, they're right there in Pulse and easy to access. You can probably answer most of the questions yourself.

Does anyone know the difference between SUB Plan vs. Excess Termination Benefit Plan? I see both listed as options on Pulse.

@bvc+1tKfjfO6 It is supplemental pay but it equals your full pay when you add in unemployment. I have a friend who was just laid off from a high paying job and she got no notice or supplemental pay. Essentially Elevance is trying to buy your silence with the support pay benefit. They aren’t doing it out of the goodness of their heart.

From what I understand. It’s just supplemental pay. I haven’t been with the company that long so It’s not gonna be much at all. I still don’t understand how you’d want someone to keep working for you for 30 more days that you’ve already let go. They’re assuming I’m not going to say anything to other people and that’s just simply not going to happen. I’ve been laid off before and received 12 weeks of pay and my prorated bonus. The last day would be September 6, which is just shy of being eligible for the bonus. If you’re buying my silence for 30 days while I finish up my remaining work I expect to be compensated much better than just a few weeks of supplemental pay.

Depends on how long you have been with the company. It’s 4 weeks base pay and then 1.5 weeks per year of service. It maxes out at 26 weeks. You have to file for unemployment like normal and then Elevance pays the difference from unemployment to you full pay.
