Curious if anyone knows if contractors will also be part of the 8/8 RIF. I’m thinking it’s anyone’s guess but hoping someone has heard something.

Contractors fall under temporary workers. They’d just end the contract. But they don’t have the same $ spend for a temporary employee that they do a FTE.
No contractor layoff on 8/8. Contractors can be let go anytime. but they are safe now.
Doubtful that a contractor would get same kind of severance though. Not sure if RIF is correct term when position is a contract position.
Staff VP said that contractors are being rifd because of the high costs.
