Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Any other past layoff being blacklisted?

Hey I have applied to over 40 roles since being laid off only been called by HR once to be told they were looking for someone without Centene experience. I have applied for my old role at least 3 times no calls and roles far below still no calls at all just rejections.

I’m on a team that was cut in half by layoffs last year and we have one of the people who was laid off coming back next week. Same position.

I have heard from several people that having Centene on your CV is not good considering the last RIF that blew up in the media. That being said you can't just take them off your resume as some people are suggesting. If you have worked for Centene for the last decade how are you going to explain a 10 year gap? nevermind convince them you haven't worked for 10 years but somehow are experienced and qualified for the position? - and then if they find out you indeed worked for Centene the last 10 yrs then they see you as dishonest for omitting that information - then they won't hire you anyway. As far as applying within Centene after they laid you off ----- WHY? You need to meet them with the same energy they have met you with - A BIG F U

Yes, it is true. Take Centene off of the resume and LinkedIn. Forget you ever worked there. Trust me you will have a much better expirence landing a new job. I comment from experience.

Question, so they saw Centene in your work history yet some HR somewhere called you just to tell you they were looking for someone without Centene experience?

Seems like a pointless use of their time and yours. Maybe they didn't know how to read. I think you dodged a bullet because that HR department doesn't sound like they know what they're doing. I mean, who calls someone that clearly lists a company only to tell them they want someone who's never worked for said company? Unless you didn't list it in your work history but it came up in the call.

Don't lose hope. Just keep applying. Something will come your way.

Centene is looking for younger employees that have little to no Centene experience. It best to try to find a job elsewhere if you were laid off by Centene. I didn’t apply to any open positions at Centene when they laid me off back in October. I concentrated my search elsewhere and got a job because I did. Why work for a company that just throw you away? F them. Time to move on to better things.
