NW IT Layoffs 7/25

Thurs, there was a meeting which we where told NW is going to use a "Bulid Operate Transfer" operation with several applications thru a outsourced company. They told us analysis was done on 500+ applications the company uses and determined if each is high medium or low "touch". They really didn't define the categories or the apps impacted as they didn't want to cause anxiety. The low and medium touch apps are in scope. The high touch apps will stay. No idea of all jobs pertaining to low and med touch apps are gone or certain jobs. For example, is it development, testers (DDIT) positions? Or, are technical analyst, product analyst. Product owners, etc. Also out?

External postings are real and those people are being hired at high salaries.

external postings are used when they do not wish to ever fill a position. allows management to say, we are looking just haven't found the right candidate! smoke and mirrors my friends.

Why is this company posting jobs for external candidates when they are laying off current employees? This is so frustrating.
