Will those being RIFed on 8/8 be let go immediately or will they have 30 days notice?

No it is not discrimination. You speak your mind… in other words, You are probably a pain in the butt and not easy to do business with. That is not a protected class.
Is the fact that my management doesn't like that I speak the truth and selects me to be riffed for it considered discrimination? I would love to get a settlement out of this place.
Are you expecting a menu of options? Like when you start your job and you choose which health plan option and how much retirement contributions? I love that idea but there aren't any choices like that in the RIF. You can accept the package or not. You can sue if you feel there is discrimination or wrong doing. That is pretty much it.

We have no control over that, it’s not like they give a choice of how much notice we will accept. It’s a rif, we will probably get 4 weeks notice.
I will accept nothing less than 31 days notice
