Have any registered nurses that have been RIFd previously had a difficult time getting back into the hospital setting being that you have been outside of the bedside/direct patient care working for Anthem/Elevance Health? Curious if employers turned you away being that you were away from patient care and skills for 10 years or more…

Some hospital analyst roles require a clinical license. I know several working in that capacity.
Please don't give up your nursing license. You worked very hard for this. I keep both of my nursing licenses active, even though I have not been in the clinical setting in about 30 years. There is so much you can do as a nurse...many options.
Worst case you could work in hospice for a bit.
I doubt I will be a nurse anymore, this feels like the end of the line for me.
Previously yes...It was difficult to get back into the clinical setting. I was told that I would need to take a refresher course. Kaiser Hospital however, was willing to hire me and provide whatever refresher was needed. This was quite sometime ago, so this may differ now. You may want to search online for RN refresher courses. Hope this helps.
