Thread regarding HCSC (Health Care Service Corporation) layoffs

WFH

We saved the company working from home during the pandemic. The extra money they gave us was pennies compared to what they saved.
Now that they don't need us to wfh they need us to work in the office.
Remember anything they do will benefit them. Check out Maurice's position with Ventas a company that manages commercial office space.

I love knowing HR is reading and responding here. It is good to have friends who care.

Nothing but a bunch of cry babies complaining working from home. If you don’t like the rule you are free to leave. HCSC not holding you back, there role out there that pay more than HCSC and remote with good PTO.

To the poster who thinks people like working in the office and you want to blame them for the requirement that you have to be there three days per week: those employees are not why you work a hybrid schedule. Don’t place blame with them. You work a hybrid schedule because senior leaders want us there. Because of building occupancy, supporting local economies. And more. Also measurement showed that in some employee classes they were far less productive while WFH. So the decision was made in part on the need for them to be in office where they are more likely to do their jobs. That is the reality.

Let’s start with pushing for 2 days per week in office as that would go a long way. I don’t see them budging on going fully remote as an option.

We come into the office just to jump on Teams calls anyways! Allow us to collaborate in person 1-2 times a week which would be adequate but why 3x a week?

The mayor of Chicago also put pressure on them to RTO. And guess who manages health insurance benefits for the City of Chicago?

For those HCSC employees who dislike working from home, why must I conform to your preferences? I don't thrive in an office environment, yet you insist on equating productivity with physical presence, allowing you to monitor and socialize at will. Why is it acceptable for you to spend ample time socializing with colleagues while I'm scrutinized for potentially being less productive at home? Why do you have the freedom to take three 20-minute walks daily, yet question my work ethic when I work remotely? There are numerous distractions and ways to slack off in an office setting that are overlooked. Why the double standard?

Do you think that Maurice is going to put his HCSC compensation at risk if it was not best for the company. He might make $200k from Ventas. It makes business since for HCSC employees to be in the office working not at home.
