Hot desking

So we've been doing this for a while now. How much money has it saved?

It really was, as @1uvo mentioned, just a step taken so that we would not easily notice when people were leaving or quietly let go.

Look toward Sky for this cost saving move. He got with Tax and figured he could show something to DW and team. Funny thing, he fooled them good and they still play along with it. None of the empty buildings are rented or will be (look at Houston commercial real estate occupancy rates, market is in the dump). For those that know, this is a great mockery of the MCs competency, they got convinced of such a bad idea because all they can see is "structural Savings". Lol

The millions in savings immediately went to the CFO as a bonus.

Excellent cost savings idea during a year of $59 billion profit.

If it was expensive to relocate people then why not fix that? It shouldn’t be expensive to move people. Since people had minimal space and items at EMHC why not just let people move themself but still have an assigned seat?

Once they took away those little black metal mesh recycling containers, I knew it was the start of something big. And here we are.

I hate the concept of it, but the savings come from not having to constantly reconfigure desks and move everyone’s belongings to their new areas whenever we have a reshuffle, which was happening constantly. We paid a lot of people to come in and plan and organize and move those boxes. That’s plus being able to cut down on services in a couple of buildings are where the savings are at.

@1zbv+1tFb7E0y - some in Nature are mothballed and waiting. The valet shuts next week and likely the SOC. Renting time soon.

Have any buildings on campus been closed?

Hotdesking doesn’t exist. Everyone in my building sits at the same desk everyday. They wasted everyone’s time and email space with this neighborhood stuff and literally no one has changed their seating patterns.

Apparently hotdesking isn’t bad enough that people quit over it, so quit your complaining and get to work. We don’t complain about hotdesking in India, that’s another reason you are being replaced.

I think it was more about alienating workforce on purpose to cause dissatisfaction leading to attrition. It’s working.

Hotdesking did not conserve any space or allow abandoning any owned building.

Hotdesking did force everyone to take all personal items home so that when NSI communicated, the person picks up their backpack, walks out, and nobody realizes the person has been fired for a couple of weeks.

“Hotdesking was never about saving money; it was about increased collaboration and enabling more flexible work opportunities… Tuesday to Thursday”

And I promise you no one that was part of the decision making process was PIPed.
