Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Summary of HCSC Culture for Cigna employees?

Look, you have several thousand Cigna Medicare employees who have just gone from historic pre-pandemic WFH to sudden push to in office work, only to be told mysteriously to continue to WFH and hold down the fort (foreshadowing) , then massive and I MEAN MASSIVE LAYOFFS, being told that we are sold off to HCSC, Feds breathing down our necks due to poor leadership and bad business decisions, and high attrition with little to no re-hiring. Within a few months... this large group of people who have heard rumors that other HCSC employees feel we (Cigna Medicare employees) are unwelcomed after we have gone through the ringer and withstood this onslaught from our revolving Cigna Medicare door leaders. We will be at HCSC doorstep within a few months whether you like it or not, as a new line of business in a nationwide shrinking Medicare business/market.

What advice can you give to your fellow Cigna Medicare and HCSC future colleagues about your current state of affairs/culture?

This would probably be better suited for the HCSC forum.

“ Create profit for shareholders and C-suite and destroy anything that gets in the way of that.”

Everyone should get a $10/hr job with a nonprofit!!!

The culture is simple. Create profit for shareholders and C-suite and destroy anything that gets in the way of that. It is toxic and it sounds like you’ve been abused. I would give you the same advice I’d give to a battered spouse…get out now before it gets worse. It won’t be easy but it will be better elsewhere.
