To earlier poster - HCSC didn't pay me during COVID, but ge-z didn't all major employers still pay their employees? Don't act like Fortune 100 sized companies didn't pay employees and HCSC was a special exception.
WFH is real for those who can self manage. I was WFH years before COVID and overall I am most unproductive on days I'm in the office. What is a day in the office like? A couple exchanges of pleasantries and then I'm on one Teams call after another.
BTW to an earlier post, using examples of professions that require hands on to perform is not the same as call center, IT, Business, Ops etc. Most of these jobs are about being on calls and multitasking. All easily done from home. Don't show me apples and tell me oranges are the same.
I get it HCSC has a commercial space issue. Excess commercial space is a looming financial crisis and HCSC doesn't want to be sitting on empty space. How about letting those who have proven they work well from home actually work from home and sublease the space. Turn a cost into a revenue stream. On a busy day on my floor it is at best 1/2 full. How many 1/2 full floors could be consolidated if 10-20% of the staff converted to WFH? A little bit of planning HCSC could have several floors at the large locations to sublease. Maybe then they can return our PTO (I know it is gone forever).
