Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Never believe the honeywell retirement plans. New lawsuit filed.

Nessi v. Honeywell Illinois docket # 1:24-cv-06093
Former UOP employee learns the hard way that Honeywell will grab money right out of a survivor spouses hand as they close your casket.
Honeywell has a long history of modifying retirement plans up to and including cancelling medical benefits for people 10 years into retirement. Even when sued repeatedly ( http://example.com/km19zz ) they will persist like they did with South Bend in 2018 ( http://example.com/nm19zz )
Bottom line -- you will only get half what you were promised .. at best.

Yeah the layoff's have slowed down unfortunately, I'd love to get rif'ed. I suspect they'll be back later in the year...

Honeywell does have a reputation for using its employees as an ATM. By that I mean Furloughs and Layoffs. Under DA's stewardship, it was a common occurrence. DA was a major grifter and had no concern nor care for employees. Only that he got his millions. Things seem to have settled down under VK, but he still has a big hole to dig out of and is being cautious and seems reluctant to get rid of "hard to hire" engineers. I am hoping that he sees fit to get rid of me. I'd like a going away gift.

Unlimited vacation does not mean unlimited vacation. It means flexible vacation. Your yearly vacation time under the old plan was 2 years. You can stretch that now within limits (but this will depend on your manager). If you have 25+ years with HW, you should expect to get 5 weeks without pushback.

Definitely would not trust HON but as pensions go UOP’s was the easiest to understand the rules. And clearly gives examples of the various pension options you can pick. If the UOP employee was foolish enough to pick the sole survivor option- yup checks end the month you die. There was also a 50% and 100% option…. What did they pick?!?

Why not? I guess your spouse won’t get the money. Maybe that’s how they make their quarterly results.
