Not that I’m happy with working here. Actually, I hate this place. But given waves of layoffs in our industry that’ve been going on for a while and will continue into autumn, I’m terrified of the prospect of losing a job. Like many of us, I simply can’t afford to lose a job and then have a huge gap before finding another.

Control the things you can and start preparing for a plan b.
Same. I’m torn between welcoming the sweet relief of being let go from a job I have grown to hate and keeping my job in a horrible job market. This place has gotten so toxic that I would probably rather chance getting my 6 months of supplemental unemployment and finding a job then instead of withering away here.
