Recent retiree here, I am seriously considering taking all of my 10 lines to tmo or Verizon. Any suggestions?
Even with that 30% discount it is way over other carriers. I also realized we have the most confusing website for comparing plans and prices. WTF?!

I’m going to move to the $300 annual prepaid plan. Unlimited talk and text and 16g of data that rolls over what’s not used. Same network better price check it out it’s ki-ler.
As someone who left T for Verizon pre-paid 6 months ago, I hv to admit T’s network is more widely available in my area. Customer service? I spent 20 minutes begging to be transferred to tech support. They were so afraid of being punished for not going through the entire script. No company has knowledgeable reps anymore.
I only left T bc they sc--wed me out of hard earned benefits.
Personal experience with Tmob, if you only use cells near major roads and don’t go into rural or low population areas then, they are comparable. Otherwise their service stinks for people like me, that frequents state/national parks, green spaces and rural areas.
“ AT&T has the most reliable robust network.”
Winner of the d-mbest post for the month for July ! Congrats 🎉
I'm definitely leaving ATT. I'll check out TMobile, I hear amazing things about them.
If we had a usable website to sell our products, thousands of sales employees would be out of a job.
Move every 2-3 years. Take the subsidies and discounts then move along.
AT&T has the most reliable robust network. Even though there has intermittent outages, you will be sorry you switched. Depending on your current plan, there maybe was to reduce your monthly costs. If you have tablets, you can save money by switching to unlimited with hotspots. AT&T aggressive plans that give you more than any competitor. Verizon network is terrible if you’re in a rural area. Regarding prepaid like mint that use’s T-Mobile. T-Mobile 5g is pretty weak. Many carriers claim 5G as up to 50 mbps. Do your homework. I hope you stay
Mint mobile for me. $15 per mo. & on the fine Tmobile network.
When I retired, TMO was cheaper even after my discount. Better customer service and works just fine. BYE T!
Wireless service decisions are almost as bad as Medicare. 3 true carriers, each have multiple plan choices, you have to determine your need, then there are those tens of other resellers with their own choices to pick from. Depending on your age, T-Mobile has an over 55 plan for two lines $70 mo. Unlimited. Seems it’s all about who and how much hotspot is needed by the users. Be careful with new device promotions they all want to sell.
Look at any MVNO for significant savings.
I am going with Xfinity Mobile, which uses Verizon's towers. If you are an existing internet customer, it is significantly cheaper than T as an active employee, let alone as a retiree.
Other options: Mint , Visible, Consumer Cellular
Then do it. No need for announcements. Either Sh!t or get off the pot.
go with google fi
All I’d say is find someone you know who has different carriers and have them test it — went to T-Mobile and lasted about three days… it had so many dead zones and in my house couldn’t get above 4mbps
And their customer service was really bad, had to do three calls just get an online profile set up because it kept erroring out
Ended up going to Verizon which was more expensive than TMobile but cheaper than AT&T and has decent coverage where I’m at where it’s 30mbps on average , not as good as AT&T but I’m fine with paying less and lower speeds
Cricket wireless works well for me.
AT&T web site has been a joke for years. It is horrible.
like several others, I was surplused although. had enough years to ‘formally retire’. AT&T wasted no time in converting my mobility bill from active employee to retirement classification. very very disappointing. I spent an hour at and AT&T owned store and another hour on the 611 support line trying to get someone to explain justify my new bill. ( 9 lines ) I spoke with 4 different reps none of which could assist with my basic question orations. i’m tempted to engage the office of the president. i was disappointed and embarrassed for them all!! AND. I need to follow up tomorrow on my outstanding severance check. net net, when it comes to increasing revenue from their own employees, T Executes, but when it comes to paying Severance, the employee hase to chase them down. And don’t ask me about the myriad of calls i’ve had to make to ensure my health benefits continue. another cluster F as well. Mobility customer Service is useless but C Suite will tell us we are number 1
What's there to think about? Go baby Go. TMO is good VZ is maybe better. Sell your T stock too if you still own the dumpster fire.
I recommend Visible by Verizon. It’s $20 per month for 2 years. Unlimited data and no fees. https://www.visible.com/
If you have broadband from a company like Spectrum, you can move to them. Even with my employee discount I save $100.00 mth +/- for 4 lines with Spectrum ( Verizon MVNO ). Haven’t noticed any difference in coverage at all in rural areas.
This is intentional, at&t is deliberately trying to drive customers to Tmobile and Verizon. There is a chapter 11 looming in at&t's future.
Move them. ATT is overpriced and our data is not safe with them. They’ve cut cost by laying off so many ppl and ja--ing up prices to pump the dividend even though the stock price has progressively declined. Stankey is a POS.
Retired in 2021 - immediately moved to TMobile - no regrets!
don't forget Cricket, and i'm also doing the same soon.
