Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

DXC Crowdstrike Exposure?

Pretty much every airline that I know DXC works with had an outage. American, United, Lufthansa, Copa and (Indigo?). Then this also heavily effected insurance and finacial companies. Anyone here seeing an unusual amount of panic from the inside (I'm outside the company). DXC seems more effected by the botched CS update than the average GSI. Is that true?

My manager said we needed to improve something. So I suggested how and was told we can't change it. I give up, really I do.

@yby+1tBOFRNH Change control is just a box ticking exercise. My manager demands someone tick the box. Nobody actually looks at it. The change board ask what you had for tea and gleefully approve the request clapping themselves on the back for having such an important well paid job. They rejecting the next because the form misspelt something. It didn't check anything. It just distracted the developers.

Businesses need to decide if they want stability in which case don't change anything ever again. Or if they want improvement in which case accept it goes wrong once in a while. The scale of this outage shows the fragility of the digital world. ONE Developer can bring the world offline. Just imagine the damage they could do if they actually intended to make this happen.

It amazes me with all the bull 💩 we have go though for change control, to modify a simple file that this brought down so many computers.

No testing of changes before going into production on production servers and home machines?

Shame on every company that had issues !

Businesses that needed to take security seriously had crowdstrike.

If you want to read anything market wise into the event I suggest looking at the ones who weren't effected... Those will be the ones waiting for the bo-b to drop.
