The company is quite happy to waste money and time. But won't invest it in it's people, processes and systems. You can spend as long as you like making the simplest of thing seem very complicated. You can attend any training you like as long as it's free and not related to your job. You can fly around the world first class (senior management only). But if you need something that costs $1, it's $1000 of form filling and meetings to be told we cannot afford it right now.
