I’m sure you are all aware of the Hybrid Policy. It can be found on Pulse. I found out that if you live more than 50 miles from an office you must get an exception to be considered for any role within the company. If you see a position you are interested in you must contact the hiring manager & ask for an exemption which has to be approved by 2 upper level management & Dr. Latiff. This has to happen for your application to even be considered. This is not a blanket exemption it must happen for each role & it’s supposed to be extremely limited because the company is moving towards people returning to the office. This came from HR. So the only option really is to move within 50 miles of an office to switch roles here. Plus if you are within 50 miles of an office & ever move you must inform this company & get it approved. How is this possible? None of this makes any sense.

I know there are some coworkers who live closer to the office are allowed to stay at home. I would like that deal and wish the people leaders would not play favorites.

How would I know this policy exists when I work in a production environment meaning I’m working cases the minute I sign on until the minute I sign out every day to meet metrics? Nobody made us aware of this & it changes constantly. HR told me they just did an update to it in April. I don’t have time to just go on Pulse & look at random policies. Leadership should be ensuring we know these policies & the changes made.
Why are you just realizing this now. It hasn't been a secret. You are not entitled to a job.
Executives have placed the burden on the employees to prop up the Corporate real estate market. Those of us who hired in as full time remote should have received an adjustment in pay to cover the additional costs that were not part of the original hire agreement. And why pick up and move to a PulsePoint location at your own expense when the Executives continue to change the hybrid rules and locations, and continue to rif onshore resources?
How is Gail going to say we need to move into the future and still require employees to sit at a desk in an office with no one they work with?
I became remote 15 years ago when they gave up our building lease, forced home. Moved to another state during this period. Manager had our team virtual and was advised by SLs we had to be hybrid with exceptions only for those over 50 miles from pulsepoint. Not one person on my team at my pulsepoint, not one. So pointless.
I was hired into a Hybrid role in 2022. When return to office became the mission, my manager changed us all to virtual employees. I have never stepped foot in a Pulse Point and there is no reason to. Anthem telling employees where they can do their job virtually is absolute insanity. The focus should be on the employee and the quality of work they produce. I am learning that (like all mega companies) the focus is on the dollar despite the bs chaning the healthcare for humanity line they push every chance they get.
Trying to find affordable housing near a pulse point is a joke.
Not a new policy. It’s been that way for a couple of years.
this is nothing new
I managed a team 5 years ago where one of my associates was planning a move out of state and not near a pulse point and I had to go to bat with HR for him
I wonder if you are 100% remote and you move lets say a street over in your neighborhood tomorrow…would you then not be in compliance with the policy? Because technically you moved outside of the 50 mile requirement. Would they take the shot to terminate?
Was told at a meeting today that the open position in our group had to be within 50 miles of a pulse point no remotes. As a remote worker myself this is a clear signal that if you want a future and are not near a pulse point, you have no options but to look outside.
You had better start su-king up hard to your manager now so they will fight for your cause to get an exception if an opportunity comes up.....
Yes, if you change roles for any reason you will have to move to hybrid or get an exception. Exceptions are very rare.
