Thread regarding Alteryx layoffs

Currently in an interview loop for the alliance team

Any Thoughts on that team and/or their leadership?

How are you with useless analogies? If you don’t know business and equate everything to pizza, Jack ‘n Coke, or car radios and Uber rides, you will pass VanSimpleton’s interview. Brown nose him. Do NOT show intelligence. Golden.

Leaders who don't listen will eventually be surrounded by people who have nothing to say.

Sums him up.

I’m on this team. I have a hard time believing the company is letting this clown hire. He’s a sneeze away from fired. He’s an HR nightmare - personally witnessed. Then again, by the time we onboard you, he’s likely gone. So there is that.

I am on SV's team and can confirm:

  1. SV has a huge ego & believes he's smarter than everyone. This causes him to not listen or respect others opinions
  1. SV's biggest contribution to Alteryx is flying around the world, meeting with partners, when we have hundreds of partners that we can't possibly service
  1. SV has promised a "strategy" for a long time but here's the truth: there's NO strategy

I have done my best to contribute and perform here. Without quality leadership at the top, or a strategy....or a formal partner program in place, we are a clusterf&CK.

It's truly something to be the team that is the subject of ridicule inside of Alteryx, where most teams are wildly dysfunctional and chaotic

I agree with what others have said regarding a lack of strategy.

Sv came in with a negative view on the team. He focuses on peoples weaknesses rather that building on strengths. This has led to a shame and blame culture.

Don’t expect much training or guidance if you do join. Sink or swim.

Sv changes his mind on key decisions on a regular basis
Makes decisions in a vacuum
Alienates people
Disconnected from most of his team unless he hired them
Etc etc
Partners are good, program a bit shaky, strategy direction and execution under sv not good

“ We don’t want to share specifics for fear of being exposed or sued for defamation. That should tell you all you need to know regarding how the team is run.”

That is the d-mbest thing I have ever heard. So you are saying the alliance team have their own attorney specifically on people saying mean things on the layoff?

We don’t want to share specifics for fear of being exposed or sued for defamation. That should tell you all you need to know regarding how the team is run.

Alliances and Partner team is a mess. Scott V (leader) does not have a strategy

Would love if people want to share specifics, but understand if they don’t.

Would be curious why the advice is to avoid sv at all costs and why working with the alliance team has been such a poor experience.

When you ask this type of question on this site you always get a vague answer like “run”. Notice most of the below answers no one is giving specifics
