Thread regarding Anthem Inc. layoffs

8/8 RIF

I kno everyone is worried but curious if anyone, presumably managers on here, knows if the utilization management - nurse precert dept is targeted on this next RIF. I FEEL like we haven’t lost any teammates since the January RIF but could be wrong.

Any EAI associates receive the "EAI Skillset Capture" email? It was an email that included a survey for aligning resources for:

  • "2025+ business planning, as well as organizing for the new Carelon.ai vision. With that

comes capacity and resource planning for our ongoing initiatives."

Survey basically asked what is your value to the team. What's your job function and proficiencies/skills in project mgmt, domain knowledge, software/operating systems, and coding language.

Seems like a large step in a coming reorg of resources.

I can tell you in my area managers -frontline are not involved in RIF decisions . Nor are told about them ahead of time. I found 1/2 hr before the team did last time.

@3qyq+1t8p6xnU - “ Team leads should be on high alert”
Is that because leads are next in the chopping block ?

Hi…no one is safe, it is enterprise-wide. Team leads should be on high alert.

Why is 8/8 thought to be the date? Any specific reasons for it? Also there is the acceleration of Carelon to begin July with the mention of AI in the same email. Seems nurses should be hit at sometime. Pre and post

I've heard it's across the board. On the Carelon side it became clear that the guy fired by Nike is here for one reason - downsize and reorg to distract. [side note: he would be wise to never hold another town hall. What a horrible presenter!] After the last round and with this one planned it's fairly clear that leadership is acting irresponsibly: nepotistic hiring at the higher levels; reducing front-line staff to dangerous levels; placing pet projects with no actual ROI above client requirements; a culture of blame and responsibility shifting; and an expectation that frontline figure out how to make AI pay for itself. If you're left after the carnage, plan to regularly be berated by leadership for missing performance measures because you're not covering for the productivity lost in the reduction. The only hope is that shareholders see the long-term impact these short-term gains will have and make voices heard.
