Not every department in corporate is toxic. Transferred here 2 years ago and am grateful we have a good team and leadership. IMO jobs are safer. If a health plan loses a line of business; such as Medicaid or Medicare, those employees are first to go. They still need corporate for all other health plan management.

Taking a role in Corporate only sounds good and looks good on paper. Buy attach the Centene name, and it won't mean anything.

Corporate at Centene is a career ender, tbh. Don't believe me? Look into their turnover. High quality people leave fairly quickly. Anyone else who is not kissing a** gets laid off.

I read every comment on this section. I’ve been in this company for a few years and all in corp. Corp has two sides of the coin and probably a lot worse than a health plan.

  1. It’s miserable, no opportunity for advancement, management su-ks, and work seems never ending.
  1. best job ever, get advancement opportunities, great management, management loves them, and somedays no work at all.

What’s the difference?
Side 2 is for the people that are always kissing managements behind, and become managements favorites, and the teachers pets. Side 1 is the employees that actually go to work to work, so they get the BS side of everything.

Side 1 is usually the people that gets laid off, since management is not a fan of them, and doesn’t like most of them.

I normally don't come here to push back on anyone's experience like the previous comment, BUT this is not the place you want to be. Maybe they've flown under the radar and have been lucky, but the environment is extremely toxic and unprofessional. More than the usual.

It all depends on what type of department in corporate. I was switched to corporate a couple of years ago (the whole team) and it's been ok.

Do NOT stay in or apply for a role in Corporate! Stay as far away as you can. It is like high school there. They are some of the most incompetent people you will ever know.

It means the position supports the internal Centene business. It doesn’t fall under a specific State Health Plan or the WellCare or Ambetter LOBs.

RUN! The culture within corporate is incredibly toxic. The leadership are inexperienced and cultivate a really harmful culture that rewards retaliation, abuse, and harassment.

It's a corporate position.

I worked for corporate, btw. Beware and if you’re new then I suggest for you to keep looking. Seriously.

It just means it's a corporate position, not a subsidiary (i.e. health plan or specialty company).
