Goals for FY25 Reminder

Wtf lol they have barely closed out last years appraisals. They’ve not given or even reviewed the merits which were recorded against that appraisal and have started to send out emails about overdue goals for FY25!!

Have they looked in the mirrors recently?

Meeting last years goals of completing appraisals on time? FAIL

Meeting several employee commitments of merit reviews in FY24 FAIL

Raul doing regular town halls? FAIL UNLESS 2am COUNTS

Improved internal processes? FAIL

New logo wins? FAIL

I could go on and on….

Oh wait there is one more

Never add any goals or look at the default ones until the year end review. Then make up something mentioning them and get an average score and no pay rise. Rinse and repeat. No point in even reading them at end of year really as whatever you write does not effect the outcome.

It’s a job requirement to fill out the goals and I always added one goal “I will be working here in a year or have found a better position somewhere else”.

I did that for 13 years , till after only 2 increases of less than 5% I had enough and found something better in January 2023 !

You all that complain in this site are the fools, your not a slave. Change jobs. already

Over the past month three separate senior GIS colleagues have admitted to me that they basically do nothing and nobody cares either. I have been asking my manager for goals for at least 2 months now and they cannot get their act together to decide what they should be. There's only so much training you can motivate yourself to do before you wonder what is the point. Supposedly we are doing really well but how can that be if noone is working productively it doesn't make any sense and we are being lied to about pay rises again to stop people from leaving.

Have you not worked out the Goals model yet. Agree to any that are fluffy strategic goals, disagree to any that puts the onus on you , on the basis that it wouldn't be 100% within your control to deliver. At the end of the year put every goal down as 100% achieved. Your Manager won't have any credible push back to your "I've had a great year" stance.

My colleagues who refused to do their appraisal because it's pointless, it won't change anything, you won't get a pay rise, and has no consequences were right.

The best way to be heard is to disengage. Oh nobody's filled in their forms, what is the organisation doing!? Yes exactly!!!

We have to give it to them. The arrogance and the audacity. Even when DXC is bankrupt or sold in to pieces, they are the beneficiaries.
